1996 saw the creation of Mindanao Trade Expo ( MTE ). The past seven expo's has made the MTE an important and effective means of marketing the island to investors, tourists and most of all, foreign buyers. The MTE has become a springboard for new products and new companies; a staunch supporter of Mindanao's distinct skills, creativeness and indigenous materials; a catalyst for the private sector and the government work together towards export expansion; a training ground for exhibitors who aim international exposure; and finally, an indicator of the island's viability and limitless potential.

Every year, the MTE highlights a particular raw material or skill -- giving it the attention it deserves as well as invite artists and manufacturers to pay homage to it by creating new products using the identified material or set of skills.

As a demonstration of the MTE's significant contribution to the local economy, it generated a seven-year sales of P 379 million and a total of 868 exhibitors.

This year in August, the MTE will open its doors to SMEs coming from the neigboring countries of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Japan, East Timor, New Zealand and Northern Territory Australia, to name a few. The 2003 show promises to have an international flavor as MTE 2003 play host to the diversity of Asian and Pacific crafts and culture. We will also be featuring the BIMP-EAGA SME Conference 2003 as a way of assessing the limitations, potentials and methods of encouraging cross-border partnership between SMEs.

Mindanao's tourists destinations, people, culture and abundance will take center stage as the Mindanao Travel Mart. This will be held simultaneously with the expo and intend to drum-up local and foreign awareness of the distinct allure of the island.

Join the MTE International 2003 and be our partner in promoting your products and services!
